Description

As part of a multidisciplinary scheme to improve railway traffic through Manchester Victoria Station, a new sidings facility was constructed to eliminate the need for trains to be stabled on the mainlines, improving capacity through the railway corridor.

Our role included the design of Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) foundations, undertrack crossing ducts, and ancillary civil works in accordance with Network Rail standards.

Our designers worked collaboratively with other disciplines including Track, Signalling, OLE, and M&E to deliver the sidings facility. Through close collaboration, we achieved value engineering by reducing materials and aligning the designs with the contractor's preferred construction methodology.
