As part of the Access for All scheme at Irlam Station, a platform extension was needed to maintain adequate platform length for trains while construction works closed part of the existing platform.

Our team delivered the code compliant platform extension design and worked closely with the contractor to develop the construction methodology.

We developed an innovative approach using a bespoke permanent formwork system. This eliminated the need for significant excavation within the track support zone, reduced work required during railway possessions, lowered costs, and minimised the risk of disrupting railway operations.
